The Senior Director of Software Engineer will work to build systems that provide the Business Units in JPMorgan Chase & Co. the ability to withstand and recover from disruptive events such as cyber-attacks, natural disasters, or system failures. As a Senior Director of Software Engineering, in CT Operational Resiliency you lead multiple technical areas, manage the activities of multiple departments, and collaborate across technical domains. Your expertise is applied cross-functionally to drive the adoption and implementation of technical methods within various teams and aid the firm in remaining at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances.

Job responsibilities:

  • Leads multiple technology and process implementations across departments to achieve firmwide technology objectives
  • Directly manages multiple areas with strategic transactional focus
  • Provides leadership and high-level direction to teams while frequently overseeing employee populations across multiple platforms, divisions, and lines of business
  • Acts as the primary interface with senior leaders, stakeholders, and executives, driving consensus across competing objectives
  • Develop and maintain software development processes, standards, and best practices to ensure efficient and effective software development operations
  • Manages multiple stakeholders, complex projects, and large cross-product collaboration
  • Collaborate with product management to understand project requirements, identify technical solutions, and contribute to the overall product roadmap.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience developing or leading large or cross-functional teams of technologists
  • Demonstrated prior experience influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value at scale
  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
  • Extensive practical cloud native experience
  • Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
  • Set clear objectives, define priorities, and allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with product management to understand project requirements, identify technical solutions, and contribute to the overall product roadmap.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience working at code level
  • IT Disaster Recovery: Have a good understanding of information technology (IT) disaster recovery processes and strategies, including backup and recovery solutions, system resilience, and data protection measures.
  • Cybersecurity: Be knowledgeable about cybersecurity principles and best practices, including threat intelligence, vulnerability management, incident response, and data privacy regulations
