As a Senior Director of Software Engineering, you lead multiple technical areas, manage the activities of multiple departments, and collaborate across technical domains. Financial technology (FinTech) is continuing to see significant disruption. As part of the payments platform team, you will contribute to JP Morgan’s FinTech advances and delivery value via corporate and investment banking products. Your expertise is applied cross-functionally to drive the adoption and implementation of technical methods within various teams and aid the firm in remaining at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances.

• Drives modern technology strategy, philosophy and culture while retaining and attracting top technology talent
• Responsible for the technical architecture design and engineering of a modern high-scale payments platform ensuring we have a stable, resilient and extensible platform
• Provides leadership and high-level direction to teams while frequently overseeing employee populations across multiple platforms, divisions, and lines of business
• Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
• Is a talent-magnet - excels in retaining and attracting top technology talent while driving a culture of growth mindset

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Manager of large technology engineering teams at a senior level
• Experience developing or leading large or cross-functional teams of technologists
• Experience leading complex projects supporting system design, testing, and operational stability
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
• Extensive modern technology stack experience including cloud, containers, Java and large-scale storage systems
• Extensive experience driving developer efficiency, agility and developer experiences
• Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience working at code level
• Experience in the FinTech, Ecommerce, banking or merchant acquiring areas a distinct advantage
• Well connected with the technology and/or FinTech/banking communities
• Participates in industry forums as a presenter and career learner
