Job Summary

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase, you are an integral part of an agile team in CT Advanced Cloud Engineering that works to enhance, build, deliver and operate solutions that support the entire application architecture rationalisation and the rearchitecture of applications to leverage native cloud functionality. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

Job responsibilities

  • Executes software solutions, design, development, operate and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Develops secure, high quality, full-stack production code; reviews and debugs code
  • Works with teams to understand the functional requirements of existing complex business applications
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Opportunity to learn and advise teams on public cloud and architectural best practices and helps them to redesign/rebuild complex business applications for cloud
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Hands-on practical experience of the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proficiency with front-end languages and frameworks (e.g. Typescript/React)
  • Proficiency with server-side languages and frameworks (e.g. Java/SpringBoot)
  • Knowledge of integration technologies (e.g. GraphQL, REST etc..)
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code with modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and demonstrated applied experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Practical experience of designing and deploying applications on AWS
  • Practical cloud native experience
