Wholesale Lending Services Controls Manager/ Vice President

Structured Operations is part of Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) in Commercial Banking and provides lending support to multiple wholesale lines of business across the firm and around the world. Support provided to the lines of business include credit administration, document & closing coordination, loan booking and servicing and loan trading.

We are seeking a seasoned controls professional with experience across operations, quality control and program management. The Control Manager will work within the Structured Operations to optimize controls across the breadth of the operation. This role will work closely with partners from Risk & Controls and senior operations leaders to deeply understand the complete control environment, identify & close gaps and optimize our approach.

Job responsibilities

  • Partner with Commercial Banking Controls and operations leaders to ensure alignment, support and remediation of controls, audits and exams
  • Proactive and forward looking analysis & review of controls to anticipate issues and improve operational performance
  • Partner with Quality Controls teams and operations leaders to improve visibility of results to drive performance improvement
  • Work closely with control owners and senior leaders to leverage and implement best practices across the vertical include risk assessment, policy procedures and job aids, access polices and issue and action plan resolutions
  • Expand control program line of sight through optimized reporting
  • Project and program management for various control-related initiatives

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Seasoned relevant experience, including control-related stakeholder management, quality controls/assurance, internal and external audit management
  • Well organized with proven ability to successfully manage projects and programs
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Strong written and oral presentation / communication skills – the ability to convey complex information simply and clearly to senior leadership
  • Strong analytical, interpretive and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret data
  • Ability to work independently across various levels in the organization
  • Ability to learn quickly, self-motivate and demonstrate a strong work ethic in fast-paced environment
