The Sales and Research Production Management team at JPMorgan Chase supports the proprietary technology platforms powering our Sales and Research business. Our scope covers a diverse array of modern platforms delivering sales-trader workflow execution across multiple asset classes, pricing and analytics, client relationship management, and the production, publication and distribution of award-winning Research to corporate & institutional clients.

This is a VP level role in Sales & Research PM serving as a Global lead of the team which supports proprietary technology platforms that automate sales-trader workflows across FICC. The successful candidate will partner with global counterparts on strategic initiatives to evolve and enhance the capabilities of the team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing team and influence the evolution of a platform aimed at digitizing and automating manually intensive flows across our Sales franchise. The role is based in London.

Working in Application Support means you'll use both creative and critical thinking skills to maintain application systems that are crucial to the daily operations of the firm. You'll work collaboratively in teams on a wide range of projects based on your primary area of focus: design or programming. While learning to fix application and data issues as they arise, you'll also gain exposure to software development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and improvement, in addition to production lifecycle methodologies and risk guidelines. Key responsibilities

  • Team leadership, people management and coaching, setting objectives and providing direction to the global team.
  • Escalation contact for all day-to-day issues impacting the plant - including being first point of contact for senior Technology and Business leaders within region.
  • Regular engagement with the sales desk, product owners, software engineering managers and other stakeholders to resolve day-to-day issues impacting the application stack
  • Create, continuously improve, and maintain real-time dashboards to proactively monitor for system availability and performance.
  • Establish standards governing the stability, resiliency and supportability of all platform components and functionality.
  • Establish and drive the governance of effective incident, problem, change and service management processes.
  • Proactively identify stability improvement opportunities in the platform and partner with SRE and Software Engineering teams to develop and implement strategic solutions.
  • Manage the on-boarding of new businesses, clients and applications to be supported by the team.
  • Ensure resiliency of the platform through managed DR/SR/HA events.

The successful applicant will possess an undergraduate degree in a numerate subject (e.g. Mathematics, Engineering or Computing science) and be keen to develop a career in a world class investment bank with an intimate exposure to a front office environment. They will possess the following skills and core competencies:

REQUIRED:

  • Experience leading application support teams covering pre-trade and/or post-trade execution workflows for FICC and/or Equity asset classes
  • Experience managing senior stakeholder relationships and providing management updates to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Expertise in applying ITIL methodologies to Change, Incident and Problem management of a technology platform.
  • Proven experience automating daily support operations using scripting and programming languages like Perl, Python, Java, C#
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with application monitoring and performance management software like ITRS Geneos, DynaTrace, Datadog, Splunk
  • Working knowledge of development toolset (Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket) to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
  • Experience with database technologies and ability to develop and execute complex SQL queries
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
  • Knowledge of LINUX/UNIX operating systems, i.e., executing functional commands
  • Knowledge of scheduling tools (Autosys, Control M)

BENEFICIAL:

  • Knowledge of algorithmic trading, order routing, low-latency trading and exchange connectivity for FICC and/or Equity sales and trading environments
  • Knowledge of timeseries databases such as KDB
  • Basic Cloud knowledge and certification would be an advantage e.g. AWS, Azure, etc.
  • Experience or knowledge of working in a DevOps / SRE model
  • Networking / Infrastructure working knowledge
