This is a hands-on role for a Design System Designer who wants to be part of flat-structure organisation and influence the design & development of a green-field initiative.

You will play a critical role in shaping and defining the overall user experience and visual language for our products by creating a cohesive, comprehensive design system from the ground up.

Your responsibilities

  • Creating forward-looking and scalable design systems: UI components, patterns, templates, and documentation.
  • Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team of researchers, product designers, technologists, and business experts to apply, evolve, and maintain our Design System.
  • Work closely with designers to champion consistency and efficiency in design deliverables across our products and services with usability, accessibility, and optimisation in mind.
  • Use customers insights and analytical data to inform the development of key components and design patterns.
  • Design a vision and frameworks to drive Design System adoption and improvements across the company.
  • Voice Design Systems across the organisation; you are the domain expert and go-to-person for education, best practices, and fostering collaboration between design and development teams.

Role requirements

  • Previous experience in a Product or Design System Design role required with responsibility creating, contributing and/or maintaining a Design System.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating samples of best practice Design System deliverables (brand foundations, components, interaction design, iconography, prototypes, documentation and guidelines for Designers and Engineers).
  • Demonstrate an ability to think at a systems level of design and understanding of User Centred Design and usability best practices
  • Strong knowledge of accessibility requirements and how to implement them effectively.
  • Effective communication of design solutions across roles & levels and comfortable collaborating with front-end engineering teams.
  • Proven understanding of mobile application and responsive web design.
  • Proficiency with Figma and other design tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
