Job summary:
The markets-facing arm of the Depositary Receipts business provides liquidity to investors and broker dealers interested in converting DRs and their underlying Ordinary Shares.
The Junior Trader & Product Vice President will join as an integral part of the team, in support of desk and product activities.
Job responsibilities:
- Advance revenue-generating growth initiatives and projects with a focus on client service, capital optimization, and risk management.
- Assist trading team in desk coverage, cultivate client relationships, respond to customer and broker inquiries, and aid in crossbook trade booking process.
- Join traders in client meetings and events.
- Contribute to strategy discussions and idea-generation regarding trade and revenue opportunities, increased efficiency, and improving the client experience.
- Research upcoming corporate actions and disseminate market intelligence within the team, enabling the desk to efficiently offer insight to clients on events that effect pricing and investing considerations.
- Serve as the main middle-office contact for all crossbook transactions, helping to ensure timely trade settlement.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the business to deliver the full suite of DR services to issuer and investor clients.
- Create desk procedures/policies to increase efficiencies and minimize risk.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- The ability to gather and analyze market data and financial models in order to identify opportunities and assist in market-sizing and growth projections.
- The ability to build relationships with internal and external partners and clients.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to convey complex concepts simply and succinctly.
- Excellent software skills with specific emphasis on presentation and client materials; advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- An understanding of international equity flows and nuances of international markets and Depositary Receipts is a positive.
- A drive to learn and a willingness to contribute across various aspects of the global business.
- This role requires candidates to have or obtain SMCR (Senior Managers & Certification Regime) & MiFID licenses.
This role encompasses the performance of regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the relevant regulatory authorities to carry out such activities.
