Join the Equity Derivatives Group Legal Documentation Templating Team and play a pivotal role the insourcing of legal functions within the organisation by leveraging the Thunderhead and Wall Street Docs vendor platforms with the view to standardising and templating a range of legal documentation, including (but not limited to) global coverage of securitised products Term Sheets and Pricing Supplements, as well as Regulatory required legal documentation such as Key Information Documents (KIDs) for Packaged Retail and Insurance-Based Investment Products (PRIIPS).

As a Equity Derivatives Group Securitised Legal Templating Associate you will play a role towards the strategic development of the structured documentation function of the equities asset class. Your prime responsibility will focus on ensuring timely and accurate global templating where applicable. Your role will be particularly challenging in that it focuses on the firm's more bespoke and non-standardized end of the legal documentation spectrum.

Job responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Equities Business (Sales, Structuring & Trading) to define securitised legal documentation automation priorities globally
  • Owns and develops relationship at all stages during the legal documentation automation lifecycle including understanding the requirements, estimation, prioritization, planning, development and implementation
  • Manages the change and release of templates including UAT and regression testing
  • Works on high profile projects including automated templates for our growing platform business flow
  • Engages with Legal, Technology and external documentation generation providers to ensure consistency, accuracy and functionality of the Legal templates
  • Forms a part of PRIIPs SME team within EMEA, providing daily support in the creation, production and monitoring of KIDs
  • Identifies and addresses opportunities for improvement; takes appropriate actions to deliver simple and innovative solutions that improve the Business and to initiate and effect positive change; identifies issues/gaps within the processes and offer solutions to close the gaps; identifies root cause of problems and implement robust, strategic, controlled and cost effective solutions/recommendations

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Degree
  • Equity Derivatives product knowledge and /or experience specifically operational processing experience
  • Understanding of the transactional documentation processes for securitised legal documentation such as Termsheets, Pricing Supplements, Base Prospectus
  • Technical proficiency in the documentation of equities' products as well as experience of interpreting, and demonstrating an understanding of, legal documentation
  • Excellent legal documentation drafting skills and the ability to understand complex derivative structures and break them down into their component parts in order to create legal templates for such products
  • Demonstration of an up-to-date awareness of industry initiatives and projects in the equities markets, especially within the EU, such as PRIIPs
  • Experience with working with doc gen developers such as SmartDX
