Job responsibilities
- Creates complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design frameworks
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Contributes to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies
- Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that are leveraged across teams and functions
- Influences leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams
- Operate on big financial and non-financial data using modern parallel data analytics tools
- Contribute to the design and architecture of the data management platform through strong hands-on coding with core Java, Python or PySpark to develop Data engineering and ETL data pipelines utilizing the latest cloud technology (AWS) and infrastructure to perform analysis at scale
- Leverage technical skills to source and prepare data from a variety of data sources including traditional databases, SQL, no-SQL, Hadoop, and Cloud.
- Build and maintain dataset documentation and metadata
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and senior level applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Expert in one or more programming language(s) – Java, Python, Scala
- Advanced knowledge of software application development and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning etc.)
- Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex technology problems in one or more technical disciplines
- Technical Leadership experience including resource management
- Data Architecture skills and experience building enterprise scale data solutions
- Traditional Database Skills (Oracle, SQL Server). Expert SQL overall
- Data Transformation, Optimization and Performance tuning skills
- Ability to profile, clean, and extract data from a variety of sources
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior executive level.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in an analytical discipline
- Basic understanding of financial markets
- Exposure to data science, AI/ML and model development
