Payments Compliance is part of Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR), within the Risk Management and Compliance organization.
As a Vice President of Payments Compliance within the Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) team, you will help us grow our business in a responsible way by anticipating new and emerging risks, assisting the Business to mitigate that risk, and using your expert judgement to solve real-world challenges that impact our company, customers and communities. You will be responsible for the execution of the CCOR programme, which consists of our responsibilities to independently assess and provide challenge to J.P. Morgan Payments’ compliance risks and related risk management activities.
Job Responsibilities
- Conducts compliance risk focused reviews of new J.P. Morgan Payments business initiatives including new products and services, as well as legal entity and location strategies, and provide challenge of identified risks and controls
- Provides independent oversight and challenge in key J.P. Morgan Payments governance meetings, including business control and client decision making forums
- Provides oversight and independent assessment of compliance risks identified by the J.P. Morgan Payments business and, where appropriate, escalate any new or emerging risks or issues
- Conducts independent compliance risk assessments and challenge through quantitative and qualitative means
- Monitors key risk indicators (KRIs), key performance indicators (KPIs) and other metrics to periodically identify areas where incremental monitoring, testing, and/or enhancements to controls are required
- Provides guidance on the application of regulations and firmwide Compliance policies on J.P. Morgan Payments’ activities
- Plans and executes testing and monitoring activities to assess the design adequacy and effectiveness of controls within the J.P. Morgan Payments business and supporting functions
Required Qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Relevant professional experience in banking or other financial services Compliance or similar control functions (e.g. Legal, Operational Risk, Control Management)
- Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a concise and easily understandable way
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and deliver consistently high standards in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to act independently
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills; ability to analyze, condense and summarize large data sets for exceptions and issues
Preferred Qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Knowledge of UK and pan-EEA regulations, including payment services, cross border licensing and passporting regimes would be an advantage
