Asset Based Lending's international business is looking for an Analyst to be located in London and support the business’s inbound originations from North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
Job Summary:
As an Analyst within the Asset Based Lending team, you will be joining an international business that is fast-paced, growth oriented and key to the international strategy of the wider Firm. Analysts play a key role in building and retaining profitable relationships within our Commercial Bank. The Analyst’s primary responsibility is to support the portfolio management & origination functions , structuring and execution of asset based loans for subsidiaries of companies headquartered in North America and for companies headquartered in Europe and Asia Pacific for a variety of corporate event driven scenarios. The size of loans depends on the line of business but can range from $50MM bi-lateral deals to large, billion-dollar, syndicated transactions.
You will gain critical skills in financial analysis, risk assessment, due diligence, and deal structuring. Our analysts function as fully integrated deal team members supporting our existing Asset Based Lending International portfolio management team and our originators, across our middle market, corporate, and Investment Banking businesses.
You will be given the opportunity to attend an intensive Credit Training course where you’ll learn about JP Morgan’s products and services, clients, and business practices alongside a class of new joiners. Under the leadership of our lending and training professionals and outside consultants, you will gain in depth knowledge of accounting, commercial banking underwriting, financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and credit structuring, among other topics. The course uses a full range of teaching techniques and learning reinforcement, including lectures, team exercises, assessments , and case studies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist Senior Originators in marketing JPM’s Asset Based Lending international capabilities to internal and external colleagues in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific
- Take a lead role in preparation of materials to support business objectives, pipeline management and assist Senior Originators in the pre-mandate and post-mandate aspects of transactions – with the expectation of taking on increasing responsibility over time
- Participate in client & prospect client meetings (in person and via electronic platforms).
- Participate in internal credit discussions including providing detail on the profile of the business, credit considerations, and modelling assumptions
- Assist portfolio management in gathering portfolio data for analysis, update and identify health metrics/KRIs, and create/update portfolio management reporting
- Gradually take ownership of several portfolio names; responsibility for ongoing lifecycle monitoring including detailed knowledge of financial, credit, operational, and legal aspects of specified transactions
- Analyse and interpret collateral reports and provide feedback (e.g. field exams, appraisals, and borrowing bases)
- Support portfolio management team members during large and complex amendments, restructuring, and refinancings
- Provide ad hoc support to Asset Based Lending International team to align with strategic objectives, including work on special projects, marketing materials, and deal due diligence
- Promote a strong control environment by adhering to risk / control procedures and protocol. Operates within established risk parameters and meets risk compliance obligations.
- Holds self and others to the letter and spirit of the Code of Conduct. Remediates control issues in a timely and sustainable manner.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree is required
- Superior analytical, leadership, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills
- Language skills – we conduct business in English so fluency is essential

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
- Degree within Business, Finance & Accounting is preferred although all experience will be considered
