Lead Software Engineer - Athena Python

We are looking for hands-on engineers to join our Athena Trade & Risk Services team, to help develop core frameworks, data models and service architecture alongside business technology partners to deliver to the Markets trading business.
As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Markets Technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team working to build and enhance market-leading technology products in the Athena platform, that improve the way our business is run. Your expertise in various technology domains will be counted on to set strategic direction and solve complex and mission critical problems, internally and externally. Ideal candidates should have strong engineering foundations and be able to work across different platforms and different software languages. Job responsibilities
- Develops robust, performant pricing, trading and risk systems including building new applications & enriching existing applications using Athena Platform. Align development with the overall Markets trading strategy
- Works across entire software development lifecycle – requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, handover to operate teams.
- Enhances the team by demonstrating best practice throughout the software development lifecycle: testing, code review, accurate status reporting, focus on application resilience and “operability”
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software development concepts and proficient advanced experience
- Strong foundations in Algorithms and Data Structures
- Knowledge of the products traded in capital markets, business processes and applications underpinning them
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Software development experience in a modern, generic purpose language (preferably Python, Java)
- Knowledge of Object Oriented Language
- Knowledge of distributed systems
- Experience in building concurrent applications
