About FX Services
JPMorgan’s FX Services business offers automated foreign exchange (FX) services across a number of use cases, such as corporate or retail clients making international payments, custodians funding international securities trades or eCommerce merchants wanting to price their products in multiple currencies.
The business is supported by global the FX Services technology team with contributors in Houston, New York, Bournemouth, London, Mumbai, Bangalore and Singapore. The team is organized into Agile development teams supported by QA and Product Teams.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be involved in the management of software development processes for FX Services trading/sales software. Specifically you will:
- Be the subject matter expert on Agile Software Delivery, advise and coach the development teams on Scrum and Scaled Agile Delivery.
- Guide the development team on the establishment of data driven metrics such as:
o Definition of ready for backlog, definition of done.
o Story point, time-based velocity charts
o Churn to measure stories and tasks moved from sprint to sprint
- Analyze, design and implement new efficient processes for our current deliveries including close collaboration with Product Owners on sprint plans as well as delivery of overall roadmap.
- Product Delivery and Management: Manage projects against aggressive client commitments and deadlines. Ensure ordered and well documented product backlogs. Remove blockers to development progress. Manage stakeholder expectations. Assists heavily in re-planning if needed based on customer requirements.
- Produce clear and transparent project governance and reporting processes
- Assist Business Management in financial aspects of development.
- Be commercial aware and mindful of costs vs benefits in everything we do.
- The Agility Lead helps build a culture of cooperation and engagement within the team through development of practices and activities that are team led and owned.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience of technology landscape involved in trading for Foreign Exchange products.
- End to End Foreign Exchange business and product knowledge – including pricing, trading, settlement, accounting, payments
- Significant experience with the agile software development framework, with a substantial experience in high pressure, time critical environments.
- Be an effective communicator with technical audiences, able to present complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders in person and via status reports at all levels of seniority.
- Expertise in resolving conflicting priorities. Skillfully navigating the layers of obfuscation which can sometimes build up in delivery teams, past those explicitly answered questions to find out what is really going on.
- A thorough understanding of agile methodologies and the project manager’s role in it including prioritization, technical and project risk assessment, estimation, project time-lines, value-based change control etc.
- Excellent communication, documentation and organizational skills.– to present to a range of stakeholders from senior internal managers, external clients, regulators and development teams.
- Ability to extract meaningful data and metrics from the development process to enable continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) with relevant work experience in software development processes for at least 8 years.
- Ability to work independently, own issues to resolution and be self-motivated to achieve the best results for clients.
