As a Control Management Analyst in Investment Product Operations Team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the line of business has a sustainable and disciplined end-to-end control environment, identifying and escalating issues with a sense of urgency, and partnering with the business to ensure issues are remediated in a timely manner. You will assist in top-down risk analysis, real-time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation.
Job responsibilities
- Supports end-to-end analysis of the business’ risk and control environment to identify significant gaps and weaknesses and determine root cause of control issues
- Provides support on oversight of Discretionary Accounts and support Front Office Portfolio Management Group/Investors on their daily operations
- Reviews Investment Parameters and ensures compliance with Investment parameters signed by the client and consistency with the set up in Connect mandate system
- Conducts Pre-Trade Check Controls
- Reviews and assess any potential trading issues including: FX hedging; Client Suitability and Hedge Fund Approvals
- Conducts Post Trade Controls/Ongoing monitoring of discretionary accounts
- Produces and, on occasion, designs high quality Management Information (MIS)
- Performs testing in relation to system enhancements, new releases, and product launches
- Conducts monthly meetings with Investment Team Leads to review post trade exceptions
- Provides first level control and oversight of the investment management business across a series of market teams as needed
- Partners with Internal Audit, Compliance, and other control functions to remediate control issues, as well as proactively identify and mitigate risks
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, including the ability to manage multiple asks to tight deadlines and re-prioritize as required
- Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills
- Strong communication skills: the role will involve communicating with employees of varying levels, with diverse roles and different native languages
- Fluency in English both orally and in writing
- Professional maturity: the ability to work alone and handle confidential data
- A self-motivated individual who is keen to pursue a career in Investment Product Operations
- An individual who is motivated by the control environment and has an interest in learning about governance, regulation and risk management.
- A strong interest in financial markets and products
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Knowledge of additional languages is a plus
