Senior Site Reliability Engineer | Shared Tech
Department
This role belongs to part of the Kingdom we call Shared Tech. The teams within Shared Tech work as B2B organisations working across all the technology that we use to power our live games, including; data infrastructure, machine learning, payments infrastructure and the game engines themselves. The vision within Shared Tech is to provide a competitive technological advantage for our game teams to help them deliver an amazing player experience to our 250 million active live users a month.
Team
The Infrastructure and QA team is a part of the new ML Platform team. We manage the IT infrastructure for the machine learning platform that we’re building. The ML Platform team consists of a combination of people from the recently acquired Peltarion team and the King ML teams. The platform is currently being deployed in King GCP and it is also a combination of technologies and systems from the two combined teams.
Your role within our Kingdom
We’re now looking to expand the team with another SRE that will help us design, build and maintain our infrastructure. We also work closely together with the other teams of developers and MLEs etc. We support and help them make the right decisions when it comes to building stable and reliable services. We highly believe in building self-service tools that allow developers to build, deploy and monitor their own services.
We regularly update the tools and services that we use, and we try to automate as much as possible. We’re open to new technologies, be it a paid service in GCP (or elsewhere) or an open source product. We hope that you share that approach and that you have a service minded attitude, always willing to help our colleagues both within and outside of our team.
Skills to create thrills
- Feel at home with cloud technologies, specifically GCP and their services
- Comfortable with Kubernetes (GKE) and containers since all of our services and tools are running in Kubernetes
- Experience with Terraform and Helm or similar Infrastructure as Code tools
- General understanding of programming. Our team has services built in Go and the platform is built using Python, Java and NodeJS etc.
- Understanding of how CI/CD pipelines work
- Comfortable working with logging and metrics tools such as Graylog, Prometheus and Grafana
- General knowledge of things like Linux, databases, DNS, networks, firewalls and security
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Able to communicate proficiently in written and spoken English
