Audio Tools Developer

Job Description:

Within the audio content creation tools team, we develop proprietary technologies that enable sound designers and music composers create and integrate their content to various game engines.

Your goals and responsibilities include ensuring the audio engine and its accompanying authoring tools are well adapted to the unique constraints of mobile content creation/playback and that the related tools and tool integrations reflect the mobile capabilities. You will work cross-functionally with high level frameworks as well as low level runtime systems to integrate features and improve our content creation workflows. You will interface with related teams on audio data pipeline as well as broader game engine teams to support production of compelling and immersive experiences.

Job Responsibilities

  • Architect and support our suite of proprietary audio tools and audio data pipeline..

  • Collaborate closely with sound designers and composers to improve workflows and aid in playback of their content in game.

  • Work with the wider engine and tools team to constantly improve the audio data pipeline and get data into the game efficiently.


  • Excellent programming and debugging skills in one or more programming languages and experience with data structures/algorithms

  • An understanding of cross-platform application development frameworks such as Qt/JUCE/etc.

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills

  • Attention to detail and great product judgment.

Desired but not required

  • Experience with game audio middleware such as Wwise/Fmod/etc.

  • Development of plug-ins for audio software (VST / AAX…)

  • Experience with (mobile) game development

  • Familiarity with DAWs like Pro-Tools, Reaper, Adobe Audition, Ableton Live or similar
