LV=GI have a fantastic opportunity to join our family of accomplished people in the GI Sales and Service Team as a GI Operations Manager.
You will be working 37.5hrs a week and will need to attend the office a minimum of 2 days a week with flexibility on the remaining 3 days. The role can be located at Birmingham or Bristol.
Travel will be required also between the Bristol and Birmingham office as and when required.
You will lead the Motor/Home/ operations, with accountability for performance against agreed service levels, whilst reinforcing LV values and behaviours.
About you
To be successful for the role you will have strong understanding of General Insurance end to end processes and products with previous experience in the Motor or Home insurance desirable.
You will have previous experience in a call centre environment with experience of leadership / management of people with the willingness to lead, motivate and inspire others to achieve their full potential.
You will have excellent written or verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex or technical information in a simple way and when required the ability to Influence, negotiation to get the customer satisfaction resolution.
Previous budgetary and forecasting experience is required
You will have previous experience of working within a financial services / insurance environment, with knowledge of working practices and experience of working within an insurance environment, with an understanding of current market conditions and challenges desirable.

- Lead, manage and motivate Sales & Service Managers, ensuring they apply appropriate leadership techniques to their teams in order to achieve SLA’s and targets.
- Forecast and manage the operational ‘numbers’, including but not limited to; resource models, cylinders and variance performance.
- Act as point of contact for Client operational issues and support new business tenders for the operation.
- Act as the Business Lead for the operational change roadmap.
- Ensure staff engagement is a key priority for the operational areas, being conscious of staff morale and concerns, and implementing actions to ensure these areas are positive in the face of change.
- Embed LV= values within the operational workforce, ensuring recruitment and performance management processes adhere to the values. Create a culture of empowerment, and trust & confidence in management, underpinned by the Sharp with a Heart values.
- As part of the Senior Management Team, make a significant contribution to the strategic planning process, and help shape & adapt the organisational structure and resources in line with changing customer and business needs.
- Ensure regulatory processes are in place and monitored, to guarantee customer information is as secure as possible, and conform to minimum security standards.
- Constantly look for efficiency savings, balancing the financial benefits of these savings against the potential impact on the performance and culture of the business.
- Act as the Head of’s ‘number 2’ within the business, setting high leadership standards for other managers to follow and the workforce to respect.
