About the Role
LV=GI are transforming our data landscape through the delivery of the Data Strategy. Underpinning this is the Azure Data Platform, which the BI team are responsible for designing, building and maintaining, and Senior Data Engineers are a driving force in ensuring its success.
You'll work in a multi-functional environment and be responsible for the technical leadership of the data platform, by using and expanding on technical design patterns and contributing to the evolution of the enterprise data model.
Each new delivery holds its own challenges, and so you'll demonstrate a range of technical and analytical skills, but the ability to problem-solve is fundamental to ensure successful delivery towards our strategic goals.
As a passionate evangelist of the Data Strategy, your leadership and knowledge transfer within the business and will also help ensure any business challenges are overcome through the enterprise-wide adoption of the Data Platform.
Please note that this is a 12 month fixed term role.
About You
You will have a proven aptitude in software development, and bring an in depth knowledge of Data modelling, Data Warehousing techniques and Azure. You'll have experience using Data Vault, Dimensional modelling and the tools associated with Microsoft Cloud technologies. You should have commercial experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Store, Databricks, PySpark and Spark SQL. Use of JSON, XML or MongoDB is also an advantage to your application.
Your previous experience of insurance or other financial services will enable you to have good conversations with your stakeholders in the business, and understand their requirements. You'll be a translator: communicating the implications and impacts that requirements might have on other areas, and design solutions and technical implementations for complex requirements or problems.
Perhaps you've been a leader of people before, but you'll certainly have trained and mentored others within your teams, and data users within the organisation. Working in different project methodologies, you'll have worked in multi-functional teams, using your expertise in at least one IT development domain or technology. If you hold Azure certification this would be a great bonus too.
