About the role
We’re looking for skilled Electricians to help keep our trains running safely and efficiently by ensuring a reliable power supply. As part of our team, you’ll be responsible for preventative and reactive maintenance, renewals, installations, and other essential tasks that keep our network moving. Based at our Docklands infrastructure depots, you’ll report to the Facilities Delivery Manager and play a vital role in maintaining critical infrastructure.

Key role responsibilities
- Support the achievement of KPIs and the technical maintenance plan.
- Operate mobile and elevated platforms when required.
- Monitor and report on power and equipment performance to maintain quality standards.
- Ensure materials are available for efficient preventive and reactive maintenance.
- Perform tests, installations, measurements, fault investigations, and repairs as per established procedures.
- Assist with reactive and planned maintenance, renewals, and installations, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards.
- Construct and maintain infrastructure following Metro’s requirements and regulations.
- Dismantle, assemble, clean, lubricate, adjust, or repair equipment within the MTM network.
- Exercise judgment in task execution and problem-solving while adhering to regulations and policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide safety information as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Electrical Trade Qualification with a current ‘A’ Class Electrical Licence.
- Proven experience as an electrician in construction or a similar industry.
- Rail safety competency certification.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical drawings and circuitry.
- Solid understanding of OHS&E regulations, Codes of Practice, AS3000:2000, Safe Working Practices, and Quality Assurance standards.
- Valid Victorian manual driver’s licence.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and on-call rosters.
