As an experienced Built Environment professional you will have a background in delivering engineering projects for clients. You will hold a good record of business development, bidding and work winning and be able to demonstrate previous achievement of business development objectives.

You will have demonstrable experience of growing market share and be driven with high energy levels. This role requires excellent communication, influencing, and negotiating skills to achieve the required outcomes. You should have leadership skills and be able to demonstrate excellent relationship building through effective communication with clients, project teams, and business managers.

You will hold an established profile in the Built Environment sector, with a strong network of client relationships, preferably in the North East of England.

You will have an outgoing personality, be high-spirited and driven by results.

You will be responsible for:

Developing and delivering the Built Environment Account Plan, in line with the overall North East Portfolio Strategy and Divisional goals

Identifying Opportunities and turning them into Prospects

Growing and maintaining relationships with existing and new clients, the wider market, and internal business contacts to influence and impact the growth and direction of the business

Winning work and driving business development opportunities with responsibility for leading the direction and focus of proposals

Driving excellence in service delivery, development of new services, innovative solutions and implementing continuous improvement actions

Managing the overall account performance towards commercial targets including the control of overhead budgets for business development and proposals

Providing technical leadership to account projects including expertise in one or more specialist aspects of the account, ensuring successful delivery across the account with focus on client satisfaction

Guiding, supporting, and developing technical staff and taking on recruitment activities in line with account strategy to drive capability in specialist skills and business development

Helping clients fulfil their zero carbon aspirations.

The Built Environment Account Leader will be a key member of the Senior Account team in the North East Region and will be responsible for ensuring Mott Macdonald achieve maximum penetration into the North East's Built Environment Sector. You will be responsible for seeking out and wining new work opportunities, making Mott MacDonald the first choice amongst Clients within Private and Public Sectors which includes Local Authorities, Developers and Contractors. The Account Leader will be expected to grow the account to maximise opportunity for Mott MacDonald, and be responsible for the delivery of excellent projects. Our Account Leaders will provide support ensuring that client's projects are delivered to time, cost and quality and that Mott MacDonald is commercially successful.

You will be able to demonstrate the following:

A Degree (BSc MSc, PhD or equivalent) within an Engineering discipline

Chartered with a relevant professional institution

Demonstrable experience of work winning and successful project delivery

Capable of understanding client need and identifying opportunities and solutions

Connected thinker with excellent presentation and communication skills

Track record of identifying, acquiring, developing and retaining clients

Experience in bid leadership

Effective collaboration skills

Can set, manage and deliver to budget.
