The Technology Services (TS) team within Mott MacDonald develops and supports a diverse range of bespoke and product-based complex software systems for clients throughout the UK, internationally and within the Mott MacDonald group. These systems are developed by our in-house software engineering staff, utilising a wide range of programming technologies centered around the Java & JavaScript technology stacks. We provide a dynamic, project-orientated development environment, with teams involved in the full lifecycle of software engineering; from requirements definition through to design, development and ultimately live system support.
With the growth in demand for Java & JavaScript skills across the wider business, we are expanding our software delivery team. Based in both our Glasgow and Newcastle offices, the key objective for our software delivery team is to complete software engineering work assigned across multiple projects.
Reporting to one or more project teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for the:
- Design, implementation and testing of high-quality software
- Liaison with customers to establish requirements, coordinate work and provide support
- Production of design, test and user documentation
- Occasional support and monitoring of live systems
Essential technical skills:
- Experience with Java, JavaScript & SQL
- In-depth knowledge of, and experience with Object Oriented Design
- Experience with formal design, coding, configuration management and testing processes
