We are currently involved on a number of major projects in various sectors, such as transportation, energy and power and industry development. We also provide support to international projects in countries such as Australia, Canada and the United States to name a few.

Our System Engineering and Assurance (SEA) Business Stream is looking for a Principal Rail Systems Assurance & Conformance Engineer. You will report directly to the Systems Engineering team leader in Mott MacDonald's System Engineering and Assurance (SEA) Business Stream.

We are looking to recruit a Principal RAMS / Rail Systems Assurance & Conformance Engineer to join our System Engineering and Assurance (SEA) Business Stream to support a growing workload of projects located in UK and around the world. The role will based in Croydon or London, but other locations can be considered. Due to the nature of our business, you will be willing to travel for projects when required, such as visits on-site. As part of the Systems Engineering and Assurance team you will be working on projects in the UK but may also become involved in international projects.

As a Principal RAMS / Rail Systems Assurance & Conformance Engineer, you will be leading Safety and Reliability engineering activities as well as Assurance engineering activities.

You are experienced and have knowledge in carrying out Hazard Workshops and in applying Common Safety Method - Risk Evaluation and Assessment (CSM-RA) on projects. You will be able to demonstrate most of the following:

  • Degree-level qualification in engineering
  • Chartered with a relevant professional institution (or equivalent)
  • Experience of carrying out CSM RA from an Assessment Body perspective and CSM RA delivery from a project perspective
  • Proven experience of involvement in hazard identification / risk assessment workshops
  • Ability to communicate and report, in both verbal and written English, to colleagues and clients on highly technical matters
  • Experience in interpreting legislation especially related to Common Safety Method and application on assurance and safety engineering projects
  • Knowledge of Railway Interoperability Regulations and the application of TSIs and NNTRs
