Marketing and Communication Manager

Strategic responsibilities:

  • Create and implement a unit marketing and communications plan for Transport that raises the profile of the unit, helps drive business priorities and is aligned with regional and group plans
  • Create and lead an energised and proactive marketing and communications team for the unit
  • Proactively collaborate with group, regional and unit marketing and IEC teams to coordinate and maximise the impact of marketing and comms outreach
  • Build trustworthy relationships with all internal stakeholders and create allies out of them to help deliver the Transport marketing and communications plan
  • Develop strong working relationships with external partners such as clients, membership organisations, media bodies, industry organisations, etc. to position our brand and thought leadership in the region and explore mutually beneficial partnerships
  • Create a forward-looking marketing and comms calendar encompassing all marketing deliverables for the unit; from campaigns, brand activation and collateral to thought leadership, roundtables and partnerships
  • Be responsible for the reputation of the Mott MacDonald brand and corporate identity at the Unit level, and ensure the units graphic design outputs follow brand guidelines and drive organisational mandates
  • Prepare, monitor and evaluate the marketing budget and maintain an efficient and up-to-date record keeping of all the marketing related spends for the Unit
  • Drive impactful internal communications across the Transport unit and help make Mott MacDonald an employer of choice
  • Help regional marketing and IEC teams with creating a culture of creativity, storytelling and ideation in the Transport unit

Marketing responsibilities:

  • Equip business teams and account leaders with all marketing material, mobilise all concerned teams and lead the conception, creation and production of creative support to help business teams achieve objectives
  • Be a custodian of all the activities related to social media for Transport and work closely with the concerned team(s) to oversee timely and efficient management of web content, webpages and/or digital surface
  • Support the EUNA Marketing Lead with engaging internal and external thought leaders, subject matter experts, senior management, industry voices, etc. to contribute to various brand activation activities (events, conferences, campaigns, memberships etc.)
  • Plan and analyse brand activation activities, including contract negotiations, managing sponsorships, issuing invitations, managing speakers, providing creative support, managing budgets and evaluating results and impact of activities
  • Drive transparency and standardisation in processes, budgets, collaterals, working relationships and marketing plans via templates, best practice and innovation
  • Ensure complete implementation and smooth operation of Marketing Levels methodology

Internal engagement and communication (IEC) responsibilities:

  • Take ownership for unit specific internal communications (intranet stories, leadership messages and newsletters) and other activities (sourcing images, quotes, approvals etc)
  • Support the EUNA Internal Engagement and Communication Manager with engaging internal stakeholders to embed initiatives and campaigns that support effective leadership, improve employee engagement and bring about positive behavioural change
  • Identifying internal engagement and communications activities for target audiences and relevant channels in line with the unit's objectives. Activities may include webinars, showcases, presentations, town halls, Q&As, videos, briefing packs, surveys and awards

Candidate Specification :

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in marketing or similar discipline
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years' experience within marketing management

Experience and knowledge of:

  • Conceiving, executing and monitoring multi-channel campaigns
  • Digital marketing, organic and paid social media activity, and marketing automation
  • Brand activation and partnerships
  • Marketing and communication budget management
  • PR, thought leadership and team management
  • Mobilising various stakeholders around marketing and communication agenda and multi-tasking
  • Presenting to senior and top management

This is likely to be your second or third role in marketing and communication management. You'll also be able to bring insights from hands-on experience of developing value propositions, turning complex ideas into compelling narratives and co-creating with fellow professionals across marketing disciplines.
