The Asset Management Lead - Northern will report into a NTH Principal Account Lead with overall sponsorship from the NTH Executive Team. You will work alongside portfolio and business managers, experts and specialists across Mott MacDonald helping to grow the business in the region. This will include shaping and delivering some of the most important economic regeneration, net zero and Asset Management programmes in the UK.

The principal focus of the role will be to grow Mott MacDonald's presence within the region, and take our existing, well established service offerings into the market, enhancing our presence locally, bringing a significant growth in income over time. The role will contribute directly to the delivery of Mott MacDonald's sustainable development aims and support the growth of its strategic businesses such as cities, health, education, and defence.

This is a strategic role actively working alongside other key stakeholders within the capabilities above.

The role is sponsored by the NTH Executive Team with investment behind it.

Deliverables

  • Develop a new Asset Management business strategy for Mott MacDonald in the North of England
  • Establish a network of contacts and relationships with key players in the North of England including clients, partners and other stakeholders
  • Identify a pipeline of major opportunities and incrementally convert these into work
  • Deliver on the Asset Management business strategy to establish an expanding Mott MacDonald presence in the North of England
  • Integrate teams, portfolios and sectors to chase major opportunities
  • Growth of a team and assisting in the redeployment of technical skills working alongside the divisional teams
  • Working with other Mott MacDonald divisions across the UK to develop an integrated Asset Management offering.

Required for the position:

  • You will be active in the local market, engaging with clients and be a proven work-creator and work-bidder, building strong networks and relationships
  • You will have a proven record of growing a new business/service offering and be comfortable and energised in this space - embracing the opportunity
  • You will possess a close and established network of industry contacts including government departments, developers, and asset owners in the built environment, and have proven skills in developing meaningful client relationships to secure workload
  • You will possess a depth of knowledge of sectors relevant to the local regional economy - this could include health, defence, education, decarbonisation, and economic regeneration
  • Understanding of the political and stakeholder landscape in the region and the factors that come together to deliver positive change
  • An understanding of the key drivers in the region, the plans for regeneration and growth, and how we convert these into opportunities
  • You will have technical knowledge of specific asset management techniques that add value in regeneration and decarbonisation
  • Delivery of complex multidisciplinary projects to the highest quality
  • Business and people management; The role will demand cooperative working internally and externally
  • Degree qualified and chartered status of a recognised institution relevant to the role
  • Commercial management and ability to raise Mott MacDonald's profile in the sector including participation in external events
  • Excellent management and communication skills will be essential.
