As an Assistant Technical Advisor the role will involve engagement with some of our key clients, requiring strong communication skills and both written and verbal. You will receive great support from the wider team as we are committed to the training and development of our staff. You will support senior staff to:
- Develop and successfully deliver stakeholder engagement plans specific to client outcomes
- Manage stakeholder mapping and prepare communications to stakeholders and respond to stakeholder enquiries. Ensure all stakeholders are identified and engaged with
- Work collaboratively with other members of the project team, and liaise with the PMO
- Provide briefings and support to technical teams for meetings with stakeholders
- Arrange and attend stakeholder meetings with technical team members and ensure feedback of stakeholder responses and requests to technical teams are responded to within agreed timescales
- Prepare and manage workshops, including developing agendas, project plans, minute taking and production of reports
- Ensure accurate audit trail maintained of all stakeholder engagement and all contact/activities are recorded on stakeholder database
- Attend client-facing meetings, collaborative planning workshops and report to client on progress
- Provide input into weekly/monthly reports for PMO and Project Board
- Attend Stakeholder Engagement Working Group and expedite actions arising
- Development of client engagement plans as part of and contributing to early account management

About the team
The health sector Technical Advisory team within BNC delivers projects and services ranging in scale and complexity through the technical disciplines of programme and project management, engineering, infrastructure finance, management consulting, advisory services, digital consulting, and health care management.
Mott MacDonald has a dedicated health sector team and is expecting significant growth in visible pipeline and our resulting market share in the coming years and is targeting health opportunities across the UK. To achieve this growth, we need to continue to attract and develop the best talent in the industry, diverse minds and those able to see solutions which are best for our clients and communities.
The team are already commissioned to work on the New Hospital Programme for DHSC, and a number of large NHS trusts. The team are also currently advising NHS E & I on a range of estate wide issues.
To be successful as an Assistant Technical Advisor you will need to be degree qualified or have either a technical and/or stakeholder management background with proven experience in a similar role.
It also requires excellent organisation skills, a drive to get things done, and strong communication skills. You will be self-motivated and able to work both independently as well as within a larger multi - disciplinary team. You should be willing to obtain, or on route to obtaining, professional qualification with an appropriate body or have recently attained professional registration.
- Significant experience of managing engagement with stakeholders and statutory bodies on major high profile public sector projects
- Appreciation of the built environment
- Experience in developing and successfully implementing stakeholder engagement plans
- A clear understanding of issues pertaining to project development and relevant process for gateway approvals, authorisations etc
- Proven ability to work and multi-task under pressure, respond quickly to changing situations in complex project environments, prepare responses/narrative quickly and clearly and use personal initiative
- Good interpersonal and networking skills, highly articulate team player
