Senior BIM Technician

Mott MacDonald are looking for a Senior BIM technician to join our growing Water Consultancy team to deliver a wide range of water and wastewater projects in our west region.
The Senior BIM Technician will report to the Framework Manager, leading all BIM aspects for a programme of projects with our water clients. The successful candidate will act as the lead for BIM within the Water Consultancy team in the West region, allowing the BIM capacity and capability to grow around them. On this basis, the expectation that they will take on some line management and resource responsibility over time as the team grows.
The Senior BIM technician will engage with the wider BIM community within Mott MacDonald to ensure we can offer the right skills and people to successfully deliver projects for our clients.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for championing Mott MacDonald's approach to BIM and its integration into our project delivery. As part of this process, it is anticipated that the Senior BIM Technician will support the Framework Manager and Key Account Lead in communicating this approach and its benefits with our Clients.
The successful candidate will have the following essential skills:
- Working and applied knowledge of Autodesk Revit
- Working and applied knowledge of P&IDs
- Worked in multi-discipline teams
- Ability to communicate on technical issues
- Ability to use pointcloud models as part of building BIM models
- Working knowledge of other Autodesk products and their use
- Minimum 5 years experience
- Experience with supporting and training others
Preferred skills and experience will also include:
- Have worked within the water industry or on water projects
- Water and/or Wastewater Treatment experience ideal
- Experience in using intelligent P&IDs
Experience of using BIM 360

We are expecting that several clients will be coming to the market shortly to tender for their AMP8 consultancy framework and are investing in positioning for these frameworks.
As part of our growth to meet the current and future workload within the region, we are looking for a new Senior BIM Technician, someone who is keen take a leading role to support the development of the team structure as we move towards AMP8 and beyond.
This role will seek to develop a working relationship with the Client digital and BIM leads, to streamline our BIM delivery processes with that of the Clients requirements and to promote and develop our capability and that of future BIM technicians.
The role is expected to develop and evolve in line with the framework requirements and the candidates' own skills and development areas.
