Assistant Project Manager - Water

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join our motivated team of Project Managers, Engineers and Modellers, delivering projects for a variety of Clients across the water sector. We are looking for a driven, experienced individual who wants to progress their career, with a desire to evolve within Mott MacDonald.
You will be a key member of bid and project teams, supporting the Bid and Project Manager in the coordination and management of all aspects of bids and projects, from business management system compliance to programme, cost control and client interface. You will work closely with internal multi-disciplinary teams, as well as contractors and Client teams, with clear and prompt communication always being critical to responding to queries and challenges. You may be required to represent the company in meetings and support the work of both junior and senior staff, supporting the development of others as well as developing your own capabilities. By building strong relationships both internally and externally, you will contribute to enhancing the company's reputation, which in turn will help secure further work.

You will be dynamic, passionate and keen to help us with the effective delivery of projects across the division. Through this role you will be exposed to opportunities to get involved across our business in a wide range of technical disciplines. You will be encouraged to work across disciplines and to forge networks across the business, in order to harness all our talents and expertise.

This role will present you with a fantastic opportunity to further develop your knowledge of the water and environment sector, as well as your management skills through your project work. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • An interest in developing expertise in the discipline of project management and project controls
  • Supporting effective delivery of projects
  • Supporting management of frameworks
  • A desire to support winning of work and delivering bids
  • Lead clear communication across teams and frameworks promoting collaboration
  • Proactively share best practice to promote effective project delivery
  • Attention to detail and diligence in the implementation of robust project controls
  • Highly competent in the use of the Microsoft office suite of applications, particularly the handling, manipulation and analysis of data using Excel.

You will have experience of leading and assisting the management of projects, coupled with excellent communication skills and a proven capability in supporting the successful delivery of projects.
You will be actively pursuing formal accreditation with a relevant professional institution, such as the Association of Project Management (APM).
