We are seeking a seasoned Enterprise Architect with a deep expertise in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to assume a pivotal role within Mott MacDonald. As the Enterprise Architect for ERP, you will provide strategic support to shape our ERP landscape to drive operational excellence, harmonize business processes, and empower our global engineering endeavours. Your strategic insight, technological expertise and ability to collaborate will be instrumental in defining, orchestrating, and optimising our ERP ecosystem.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Build effective partnerships with the business to ensure understanding of market, commercial & strategic priorities to define an overarching ERP Architectural Strategy
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, executive stakeholders, and technology partners to align ERP outcomes and initiate the transformation programme to underpin the Strategy
  • Ensure all ERP platforms have appropriate data management and governance procedures, comply to relevant regulatory standards and enhanced levels of data security
  • Define the overarching data governance and security strategy for the ERP ecosystem in alignment with the company's business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Architecture: Develop the architectural design and implementation of comprehensive ERP solutions, encompassing system integration, data integrity, and scalability.
  • Change Programme: Collaborate extensively with diverse cross-functional teams, including technologists, analysts, wider business and external partners, to ensure a cohesive and high-impact ERP implementation.
  • Vendor Selection: Evaluate and select ERP platforms that seamlessly integrate within our technological landscape and align to business needs.
  • Data Management: Collaborate across IT and the business to orchestrate data migration strategies, ensuring the seamless transition from legacy systems to contemporary ERP platforms without compromising data quality.
  • Data Governance: Develop and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent data definitions, quality, and integrity across the ERP environment.
  • Technical Support: Provide strategic direction, technical mentorship, and thought leadership to a talented team of ERP professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and agility.
  • Best Practice: Cultivate and nurture relationships with external vendors and solution providers to ensure successful ERP project delivery while maintaining industry best practices.
  • System Architecture: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify critical data assets, data flows, and potential vulnerabilities, and create a roadmap to enhance data protection and compliance.
  • Horizon Scanning: Communicate emergent industry trends, disruptive technologies, and ERP innovations to the wider group, and influence any activity to update roadmaps based on opportunities identified.
  • System Governance: Govern and oversee the entire lifecycle of ERP projects, encompassing requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, training, and sustained support.
  • Data Ownership Establish data ownership, stewardship, and accountability frameworks to empower data custodians and stakeholders in maintaining data accuracy and consistency.
  • Secure by Design: Design and implement robust security architectures for the ERP systems, ensuring protection against internal and external threats, data breaches.
Candidate Specification :
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Extensive experience as an ERP Architect, Solution Architect, or a related role, with a focus on data governance and security.
  • A demonstrable track record of architecting and implementing intricate ERP solutions in senior enterprise roles.
  • Experience of data migration strategies, system integration, and customisation within the ERP space.
  • Strong expertise in ERP systems and architectures (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks, practices, and tools.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, encryption methods, and access controls.
  • Familiarity with relevant compliance standards and regulations.
  • Exemplary communication skills, capable of effectively conveying complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, TOGAF) are a plus.
