Brief Description
To serve its passengers more effectively Network Rail has devolved their property portfolio into 5 regions and this role sits in the Eastern region.
The purpose of this role is to:
provide strategic property advice on a portfolio of projects across the Anglia Route
Assist with the compilation of land strategies that enable the acquisition of land to support project delivery
negotiate and agree acquisitions, completing the transfer process via the instruction and management of external solicitors
assist with Property Cost Estimates for projects especially those requiring compulsory powers
instruct and manage external agents where necessary
assist with the analysis and settlement of compensation claims that result from the use of compulsory powers within an agreed budget, reporting progress and risk against project budgets.
provide technical leadership on the range of property issues and provide support to the wider team
You will be working in a highly professional and flexible environment, reporting to a Senior Surveyor. This role will offer you the opportunity to work independently and be involved with a team that manages a diverse range of work.It will be challenging.But you will be able to develop and hone your skills within a small but supportive team working on some of the busiest parts of Britain's railway.
About the role (External)
You will be self-motivated and able to work independently, prioritise tasks and work to what will sometimes be challenging deadlines.A knowledge of compulsory purchase is desirable but not essential.Full training will be provided.
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential
Educated to degree level or equivalent
MRICS qualified (or on your way to full membership)
Wide range of General Practice surveying experience
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Proven negotiation skills
Full Driving Licence
Desirable
Compulsory Purchase
Understanding of the rail industry and rail legislation
Experience of stakeholder management
Strong presentation skills
