This vacancy is located in Madrid, Spain. Relocation support is available for the successful candidate.

Be a part of a revolutionary change.

At PMI, we’ve chosen to do something incredible. We’re totally transforming our business and building our future on one clear purpose – to deliver a smoke-free future.

With huge change comes huge opportunity. So, wherever you join us, you’ll enjoy the freedom to dream up and deliver better, brighter solutions and the space to move your career forward in endlessly different directions.

Wherever you join our crucial 47,000-strong Operations team, you’ll have the opportunity to make an impact.

PMI’s shift from selling cigarettes to our new smoke-free products has changed the way we work. New products bring new challenges – in the way we source and buy raw materials, in the way we engineer and manufacture, and in our supply chain planning.

Bring us your curiosity and a desire to challenge the everyday, and we’ll give you lots of responsibility. You’ll help us improve, inject innovation and create new ways of working.

For our Global Procurement Category Management team in Madrid, we are searching for a Global Procurement Category Lead, who will report into the Category Manager Global Technology.

The role:

In this role, you will own assigned IT Services category within Global Technology space, acting as a subject matter authority. Demonstrating an eye for business opportunities, you will offer strategic leadership to assure, protect, and build value for PMI by securing cost efficient and highly custom global agreements with leading technology providers.

You will be part of a team that currently handles a multi-billion USD annual spend, evolving rapidly in line with Philip Morris’s transformation and the shifting technology services landscape – offering you the chance to create solutions, build new partnerships and influence how the team achieves success. This is a great opportunity for someone already immersed in leading large negotiations in Technology space to take the next step and directly own assigned category strategy from creation to implementation, in collaboration with senior business partners.

Your day-to-day:

  • Act as a trend setter and set the agenda in Technology procurement, developing and deploying Global Strategic Procurement plans by interacting with key collaborators, analysing category data and metrics to drive and deliver end-to-end category management practices in line with overall functional strategies.
  • Develop and deploy global and regional strategies by engaging, building and leading relationships with internal cross-functional partners, leading external technology suppliers and industry experts.
  • Enforce current processes and recommend improvements to standard processes, focusing on cost optimisation, quality, and service levels.
  • Manage high-value contracts and vendors on a global level, ensuring service reliability, supplier performance and continuous improvement initiatives are met.
  • Lead the ongoing development of our data ecosystem to unlock deeper analytics, enhance visibility, and proactively identify behavioural and performance improvement opportunities.

Who we're looking for:

  • 7+ years of experience in global procurement or account management/sales in an IT/Technology specialized multinational.
  • Knowledge of trends in the tech industry and the marketplaces for services, including experience with translating trends and needs into compelling strategies.
  • Validated experience building effective internal and external partner relationships that yield long-term value.
  • Deep understanding of pricing and pricing models in different global geographies/markets.
  • Experience crafting complex business cases, financial models, projections and metrics.
  • Critical thinking, strong analytical skills and fantastic negotiation skills. You combine creative thinking and factual analysis to develop, plan and execute strategies in close collaboration with senior business partners.
  • Native or fluent speaking in English (minimum C1).

What we offer:

Our success depends on the talented people who come to work every single day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress. Join PMI and you too can:

  • Seize the freedom to define your future and ours. We’ll empower you to take risks, experiment and explore.
  • Be part of an expansive, diverse culture, where everyone’s contribution is respected; collaborate with some of the world’s best people and feel like you belong.
  • Pursue your ambitions and develop your skills with a global business – our staggering size and scale provides endless opportunities to progress.
  • Take pride in delivering our promise to society: to deliver a smoke-free future.
