What you'll be doing

  • Establishing and maintaining the Sales Data Domain, including its scope, key data assets, business rules and governance processes
  • Working with the Data Management Lead and wider data leadership team to create a clear sales data roadmap aligned with business goals
  • Identifying opportunities to improve sales data through initiatives including CRM transformation, Customer 360, Master Data Management and trusted reporting
  • Creating and maintaining standards, policies and procedures for the ownership, handling and use of sales data
  • Defining and monitoring data quality measures and driving activity to resolve underlying data issues
  • Implementing controls that improve the completeness, accuracy, consistency and timeliness of sales data
  • Supporting compliance with data governance, security and data protection requirements
  • Collaborating with Data Visualisation, Business Intelligence and Data Engineering teams to improve data availability and usability [Sales Data...nager - JD | Word]
  • Building strong relationships with Sales Leadership, Commercial teams, CRM stakeholders and other Data Domain Managers
  • Acting as the main point of contact for sales data queries, issues and change requests
  • Representing the Sales Data Domain within governance forums and working groups
  • Partnering with Sales Operations, Commercial and CRM teams to understand business processes and data requirements within Customer Central, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and related platforms
  • Assessing how organisational, process and system changes could affect sales data

What we need from you

  • A strong understanding of sales processes
  • Experience working with data in an operational, administrative, analytical or reporting environment
  • Experience in data management and data quality
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Knowledge of CRM data, ideally within Microsoft Dynamics 365 or a similar platform
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on maintaining accurate, complete and trusted data
  • Experience managing data-focused products, platforms, processes or datasets
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities
  • The ability to translate business requirements into practical data management solutions
  • Confidence communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong project management, influencing and cross-functional collaboration skills

It would be great if you also had

  • An understanding of metadata, data lineage and business data definitions
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview, Profisee, Power BI or similar data management and reporting tools
  • Knowledge of Softcat's sales, customer or commercial landscape, or experience within a similar organisation

We also acknowledge that the confidence gap and imposter syndrome are a real thing and can get in the way of us meeting fantastic talent, so please don't hesitate to apply – we would love to hear from you!

  • Flexibility around school pick up and drop offs
