Are you a passionate Security DevOps Engineer, specialising in automation and orchestration?
The role requires a strong background in Cyber Security, an understanding that spans all common enterprise security controls and hands on experience with APIs. You must be able to communicate and collaborate effectively with others, providing insight with an agile and pragmatic approach.
About the Role:
As a Security DevOps Engineer, you'll be collaborating with teams across Softcat involved in service development and delivery, providing your expertise to help mature the security of our services. Inside the security team you will help improve our security controls, specifically by identifying and implementing beneficial integrations between them and other business systems.
What you will be doing:
- Working with our security engineers to improve existing and implement new technologies to mature our security posture and maintain operational resilience
- Helping us use data to measure and quantify the effectiveness of our security operations
- Improving security team operations by integrating security controls and other business systems
- Working alongside and managing the relationship with our external partners for Security Operations and Penetration Testing, a knowledge of SIEM technologies to support this engagement is desirable
- Running a proactive, cross department, vulnerability management program
- Supporting the Head of IT Security with continual improvement activity – specifically around our Security Operations function
We'd love you to have:
- Experience automating and orchestrating workflows using APIs
- Experience with JavaScript with knowledge of other languages such as Python being beneficial
- Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, CIS Controls and ISO27001
- Aptitude to pick up new technologies and share knowledge with other members of the security team
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as Azure and AWS
- An understanding of security threats and the risks that these present to businesses
IMPORTANT: You currently hold BPSS clearance or are willing, and eligible, to undergo this vetting
