What you’ll do

Report directly to the SE5, the SE1 will carry out all engineering activities, including Overhauls, Heavy Maintenance activities, minor defects rectification, modifications, Weighing & balancing, repairs, time-based maintenance packages.

You will also get the chance to work on our newest/latest fleet of trains that SE has to offer.

The experience you’ll need

To be considered for the role you will need to demonstrate the below in your application.

  • Experience skilled mechanical / electrical work.
  • Practical Aptitude.
  • Ability to read and follow schematics and diagrams.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance Electrical or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of IT systems and computer skills.
  • Possess a full Drivers Licence.

Given the start and end times of shifts, it’s also best to have your own transport to get to and from your place of work.

  • All successful applicants will need to pass a Personal Track Safety course or a Depot Track Safety course (full training provided).
