SSE Renewables has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering Team, supporting the delivery of some of the largest and most ambitious onshore wind, offshore wind, hydro, BESS, and solar projects across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
Working as part of a team of experienced engineers, you'll contribute to the development and delivery of major renewable generation projects across both development and construction phases. From early-stage electrical system design through to substations, grid connection infrastructure, wind turbines, power system studies and support through the grid compliance process, you'll help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard.
This is an opportunity to build your experience across a diverse portfolio of onshore and offshore renewables projects while working at the forefront of the energy transition. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors and stakeholders, helping to solve technical challenges and deliver critical renewable energy infrastructure.
You'll also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, sharing ideas and supporting the adoption of new technologies, engineering solutions and best practices that enhance project delivery and long-term asset performance.
You will
- Support the delivery of electrical engineering design activities, including the development of technical specifications, scopes of work and contract documentation for substations and electrical balance of plant packages.
- Prepare, review and update technical documentation for substations, wind turbines and associated electrical equipment, helping to ensure compliance with technical, safety and quality requirements.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), supporting the verification and commissioning of major electrical systems and equipment across complex onshore and offshore renewables developments.
