About the Role
Base Location: Reading, Perth and Cardiff
Salary: £32,600 - £48,800 + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available – this is a Hybrid role working two days a week in the office.
What is the Role?
As the Lead UX Designer you will define and develop frictionless and consistent customer experiences for our Business Customers and inform the future of digital within Business Energy. You will act as the voice of the users across scrum teams and have a unique blend of design and technical savvy, as well as a big-picture experience vision and drive to make that vision a reality. You will work on activities to challenge the way we design and deliver digital services to our customers and define future experiences that are personalised, simple and scalable. As part of your role you will:
- Drive strategic direction from a user experience perspective - envision and develop intuitive, re-usable, scalable, and accessible user experiences for multiple platforms based on research and best practices.
- Communicate designs through the creation of meaningful UX deliverables such as sketching, storyboards, sitemaps, wireframes, flowcharts, prototypes, and IA that help the team understand what to build and why to achieve solutions that are right for our customers and adhere to the product vision.
- Confidently justify design decisions based on a thorough understanding of contemporary user-centred design methodologies using existing and new technologies that are arising in the digital space such as Big Data-Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning.
- Own overall end-to-end user experience, from the big picture down to the specifics of UI layout and identifying of future opportunities.
- Provide UX thought-leadership, coaching, mentorship, and guidance within the Design team and across the business.
- Build and maintain centralised digital asset resources to ensure consistency and excellency.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Expert capabilities in interaction and visual design and in leading on UX design from flows, wireframes, usability, accessibility, and information architecture using collaborative design tools, with excellent attention to details.
- Ability to effectively synthesise and utilise user research, feedback and requirements of multiple stakeholder groups.
- Proficiency with wireframe and prototyping tools, Figma is current tool of choice.
- Experience as a user experience designer, information designer, interaction designer, graphic designer, art/creative director or similar role with a portfolio of research, personas, UX flows, experience maps, wireframes, prototypes and user testing.
- Facilitation skills - coordinate and lead workshops and Design Sprints.
