At SSEN Transmission, we are responsible for the electricity transmission network in the north of Scotland, maintaining and developing high voltage 132kV, 220kV, 275kV and 400kV network infrastructure and we'll be investing £10bn to upgrade that infrastructure, right across the north of Scotland, between now and 2030 as the region plays a leading role in the clean energy transition.

About the Role
Base Location: Flexible – however our preference is that your base location will be at one of our main offices in Scotland (Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness)
Salary: circa £45,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience) + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing, and family.

The Communications Manager, SSEN Transmission will play a key role in the development and execution of the strategic external communications strategy for SSE's Transmission business, with responsibility for protecting, promoting and managing the reputation of SSEN Transmission and its operations in the north of Scotland.
This role is involved in proactively identifying and addressing communications challenges and opportunities on all issues of high interest and collaborating with other Corporate Affairs Transmission colleagues in order to curate SSEN Transmission's external narrative and maximise impact with target audiences.
Working as an integrated part of Transmission's Customers and Stakeholders Directorate, as Communications Manager you will lead on proactive, integrated content planning and will contribute to a communications grid, ensuring that all SSEN Transmission's communications activity is coordinated and complementary. Naturally strategic and proactive, you'll use your keen news sense to identify stories that bring SSEN Transmission's purpose to life, and take personal responsibility for landing these with key media to generate the highest possible impact.
Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, you'll work with internal stakeholders to help ensure alignment and collaboration across all SSEN Transmission's external facing functions.
