About the Role
Base Location: Glasgow, Shetland, Inverness, Aberdeen or Perth
Salary: £33,500 - £50,300 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
Due to the huge, exciting pipeline of infrastructure projects which will directly facilitate Scotland's ambitions to meet Net-Zero, SSEN Transmission has a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager who will be responsible for:
- Working in the team developing Large Capital Projects, delivering substation, overhead line and onshore and offshore cable projects ranging in value from £10m to £2bn.
- Being an essential part of the team to progress key surveys and studies to inform initial design development and site selection.
- Helping to develop options and initial designs, submission of Planning Applications and delivery of key project Gate documentation. Development of overhead line /underground / offshore cable routes and onshore substation site selection, selection of appropriate technologies to meet project requirements, coordination of key surveys and studies to inform designs, coordinating initial design works. Key stakeholder and supply chain engagement.
- Developing an understanding of the programme and key responsibilities for managing project plans by supporting the Project Manager while gaining skills in contract management by assisting the Project Manager on package delivery activities.
- Applying and adhering to the SSE Safety Culture, best practices and the SSE Large Capital Projects Governance processes for all projects.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- An understanding of project management methodology and practice. A PM qualification or working towards this is also advantageous.
- A degree level qualification in engineering or equivalent experience is required
- Experience in the Transmission, construction, offshore, utilities industries on major projects would be advantageous but not essential.
- Ideally you will be a proactive team player and effective communicator able adapt to daily challenges.
