The Regional Commercial Manager is focused on the development phase of projects and it is a pivotal role in the development of the North East region for the DE business by driving the commercial development of large scale, multi technology energy infrastructure projects including electricity generation and networks related projects.

As the Regional Commercial Manager for the region you will work closely with the General Manger North East developing capability within the region, supporting the qualification and development of opportunities and structuring the contracting strategy with the client and other stakeholders. This will include working closely with the acquisition, development, procurement and engineering teams within DE.

The DE market is competitive, complex and subject to substantial change – with new competitors, changing technology and demanding clients. Beyond this, DE is developing at pace and has a growing portfolio of projects; you will be responsible for adding breadth and sophistication to our offering in the which will be central to our success in diversifying and securing projects and increasing our customer base in the North East.

You will be at the heart of the pre-contract teams so you will be expected to inject leadership energy, pace, rigour, commerciality and an obsession with delighting customers to everything we do.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Commercial leader with experience in developing energy infrastructure and energy projects such as large scale private networks, solar, wind or battery storage.

- Recognised qualification in a commercial related subject.

- Substantial contract negotiation / project development experience.

- Strong knowledge of standard form construction contracts – NEC/ JCT/MF1 etc.

- Experienced in financial control of projects, including cost control and other processes.

- Experience in working with either a main contractor or asset owner required.
