Base Location: Flexible, however you will be based at one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which are: Perth, Glasgow, Reading, London, Belfast or Dublin.

What is the role?
The role of Senior Company Secretarial Assistant sits within SSE’s Group Company Secretariat. A team which provides broad-ranging technical corporate governance and compliance support to the SSE Group, its business units, and range of internal functions. This position will see involvement across the full suite of services administered by the department, with a key focus being Entity Management and meeting services to SSE Energy Businesses.
Across the above areas, key responsibilities will include:
- Entity Management. This will include preparation and filing of statutory forms and the maintenance of company books and records via GEMS and staying abreast of the latest legal and regulatory requests related to entity management.
- Meeting Services. Assisting with the provision of effective meeting support to SSE Group and Business Unit Committees, along with Joint Ventures as required, including the drafting and the timely issuance of minutes and actions.
- Corporate Projects. Supporting a variety of corporate projects. For example, supporting SSE’s business activities relating to M&A (such as due diligence requests, the setup of new entities, and corporate restructuring).
- Governance. Assisting with governance projects required to support the objectives of the Company Secretarial Team.
- Administration. Filing, archiving and general administrative duties and supporting the team with any ad-hoc duties as required.
What do I need?
You will be enthusiastic and self-motivated and enjoy exposure to a range of projects and working styles. Excellent attention to detail is key, alongside flexibility and readiness to adapt to changing priorities.
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Fully/part qualified with the CGI/ICSA qualification.
- Experience within a company secretariat function particularly in the areas of entity management and meeting services.
- Depth of exposure to company secretarial deliverables with demonstrable knowledge of the Companies Act and other relevant legislation and regulation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distil complex issues and implement change.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines along with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships, enjoy teamwork and positively influence outcomes.
