About the Role

Job Title: Shift Operator

Base Location: Lerwick Power Station

Salary: £31,339 - £35,892 depending on skills and experience + shift allowance + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

What is the Role?

As Shift Operator, you'll operate engines and auxiliary plant under the direction and supervision of the Shift Supervisor ensuring safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment in accordance with company safety standards, relevant company procedures and local arrangements to deliver a continuous supply to the Shetland grid.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, you'll have knowledge of:

- All generating and auxiliary plant elements and a good understanding of various site environmental limits.

- An ability to carry out basic fault finding and to be able to recognise plant and system issues is key.

- You'll also have an understanding of SSE's company environmental targets and an ability to work within the safety rules.
