About the Role
Base Location: Perth, Glasgow, Aberdeen, or Inverness
Salary: £45,400 - £68,200 + car/car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contract Manager (Cost Controller) to join our Procurement and Commercial team to support our Networks Transmission business. SSEN Transmission Networks Transmission business has secured an extensive capital development programme over the next ten year period. The roles are required to support the growth of our countries' electricity transmission network and the transition to Net Zero through connection of renewable energy sources. In this role you will:
- Support with monitoring, controlling and reporting on all cost activities for major projects. To successfully operate within a regulated business environment, we’re required to monitor, control and report on all Cost matters required – this includes areas such as Forecasting, Budgeting, Change Control, Cost Reporting and Accrual Generation.
- Work within the Project Team, undertaking cost control activities required from the Procurement and Commercial team.
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures, promoting safety and safe working practices both internally and externally to improve safety performance.
- Provide support to the Procurement and Commercial Team in providing a world class procurement and commercial service to internal customers.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Solid experience as a Cost Controller (or equivalent) along with demonstrable experience and competency within all aspects of cost control including forecasting, budgeting, change control, cost reporting and accrual generation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with an ability to liaise with all levels of the business.
- Ability to contribute to continuous improvement activities within the business, identifying and developing innovative methods for improving cost control processes and techniques.
- A collaborative approach, able to develop strong working relationships with all areas of the projects.
- Joint Venture cost control experience is preferred but not essential.
