Salary: £33,500 to £50,300 + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

SSEN Transmission owns and operates the electricity transmission network in the north of Scotland, transporting energy from where it is generated to where it is needed, providing a safe and reliable supply of electricity to the communities it serves. What is the Role?
SSEN Transmission is currently recruiting for a Commercial Analyst who will sit within the Markets Team, part of Whole Systems. This role will support SSEN Transmission in delivering a network for net-zero by working on commercial reforms; reviews of, for example, the impact of hydrogen or storage; and assisting with regulatory aspects such as code management, market reviews or transmission charging. You will help shape the direction of the industry by ensuring commercial policy foundations are fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities:
Support SSEN Transmission’s involvement with commercial policy reform across the industry through:
- Assessing reforms for impacts on the business and its stakeholders
- Liaising and communicating within the business to draw on expertise
- Communicating with external relevant parties (Ofgem, National Grid ESO, other Transmission Owners, Distribution Network Operators and demand and generation customers) to provide comment/ opinion and share information.
- Generating and acquiring data/ information from primary and secondary sources, evaluating the impact on our business and providing appropriate reports (Word/ PPT/ etc) to inform relevant areas of SSEN-Transmission.
- Liaising with subject matter experts (SMEs), logging monthly data on new and updated code modifications and informing the wider business on risks and impacts.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- The ability to work with people from a range of disciplines in the organisation, outwith your own area of expertise.
- Good communication skills: to discuss matters with a range of people with different levels of expertise.
- Good presentation skills: to present code information to a range of SMEs and others.
- The ability to prioritise, plan and organise whilst challenging and questioning if anything is unclear.
- A working knowledge of Excel and Power BI dashboards
An understanding of the electricity network industry and the Government’s policies towards Net Zero would be advantageous
