About the Role

Base Location: Reading, West London, Slough, Oxford, Swindon, Melksham, Poole, New Forest, Yeovil, Portsmouth, Aldershot, Petersfield

Salary: £49,559 - £63,643 + car / cash allowance + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Onsite

We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer within our 132kV Overhead Line team within our distribution operations business.

You'll be a key member of the team helping with the safe delivery of a wide range of key inspections and maintenance activities as well as capital refurbishments.

We are looking for someone who has strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage varying deadlines and priorities, whilst maintaining positive working relationships. Someone who can identify and implement innovative and effective business improvements.

The key duties and responsibilities of the Engineer are:

- Lead and work as part of the team ensuring all health and safety requirements have been met before work commences on site and are followed at all times.

- Resolve all immediate technical and planning issues, ensuring all work is carried out to necessary standards, schedule and customer requirements.

- Plan work programmes and monitor work progress to ensure customer requirements are met and standards achieved.

- Liaise, co-operate and co-ordinate with other managers as required to ensure cost effective application of resources.

- Pro-active approach in ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved and requirements under regulatory and Company standards are met. Where necessary take action to avert potential failures and resolve customer enquiries.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- An understanding of 132kV Overhead Lines and the environment we operate.

- Knowledge of current operations and maintenance activities including policies, procedures, electrical systems and their geography would be beneficial but not essential as informative training will be provided.

- ONC in Electrical/Power Engineering or equivalent qualification or gained equivalent experience is preferred, but not essential as training can be provided

- Site management safety training scheme (SMSTS) or Institution of Occupational Health & Safety (IOSH) qualification.
