About the Role

Base Location: We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSEN offices within a commutable distance of Andover, New Forrest Melksham, Swindon or Poole

Salary: £58,630 - £68,098 + car / car allowance + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

To help deliver our RIIO ED2 business plan of £4BN and netzero we are expanding our Large Capital Delivery teams across our Distribution licence areas with additional Project Managers. You will work within project teams to deliver electrical infrastructure projects that meet our customer's requirements, in a safe and timely manner at the agreed cost.

Key Responsibilities:

- Managing a range of projects in accordance with our investment management process.

- Responsible for all aspects of the project including safety, quality, cost and programme.

- Ensuring project documentation and contracts along with supporting information are compliant, maintained and complete through each phase of the project life cycle in line with SSEN processes.

- Providing support to both our customer and delivery partners through excellent stakeholder engagement to ensure the projects proceed safely, efficiently and to plan.

You'll be part of a project management team working closely with design engineers, field staff, contractors, customers, and key stakeholders.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Previous experience of managing construction projects involving underground cables, overhead lines and substation works up to 132kV is preferred but other relevant sectors/utilities will be considered.

- An Engineering qualification is preferred and a recognised qualification in construction safety and project management would be advantageous.

- Experience in contract management and ideally have experience of NEC construction contracts.

- You will be experienced in the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 and understand the duties of Client, Principal Designer and Principal Contractor.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital and you will need to be comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external. You will also need to possess good problem-solving skills and can thrive under pressure.

Regular travel is required and as a result we can only accept applications from candidates that hold a current driving licence.
