Transport for Greater Manchester oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport projects, and it’s our experts who provide the information and analysis to shape transport strategy. This is a busy and exciting time for us: under the devolution agreement and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse and with the delivery of the Major Projects, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.
TfGM have an exciting new opportunity for a Partnerships and Engagement Manager – Business and Employers to lead on engagement with businesses and relevant representative groups across Greater Manchester to help shape the sustainable transport agenda and support businesses as more people return to the workplace through the recovery from the pandemic.
In this new role, you will:
- Develop and deliver a sustained programme of business engagement in support of organisational objectives
- Identify, initiate and support strong, credible and meaningful relationships with relevant partners providing strategic advice to senior colleagues as required
- Gain feedback and maintain an intelligence framework on key issues to inform decisions relating to transport delivery and policies
- Develop targeted, relevant materials and messaging including briefings, presentations and guidance
- Conduct effective external engagement with key business stakeholders on wide-ranging transport plans and policies
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure businesses and representative groups have the latest travel information and tools in support of planning and behaviour change.
You will have proven experience of effective partnership working within the business sector and a demonstrable understanding of how co-design principles can be used in project and service design. Being able to demonstrate delivery of outcomes at scale through innovative strategic and tactical engagement approaches informed by intelligence is essential for this role as well as being a successful people and project manager, able to embed new approaches and balance multiple priorities. You will also be educated to degree level or have equivalent levels of experience.
