Hi! We're UW. We’re on a mission to take the headache out of utilities by providing them all in one place. One bill for energy, broadband, mobile and insurance and a whole lot of savings!

We’re aiming to double in size as we help more people to stop wasting time and money. Big ambitions, to be delivered by people like you.

Got your attention? Read on...

We put people first. It’s all about you..

As the new Pricing Manager at Utility Warehouse, you will take ownership of pricing decisions and shape the next stage of Utility Warehouse’s insurance journey. You will lead the design, development, and deployment of our market pricing, commission optimisation and lifetime value modelling across our insurance product suite.

We deliver progress. What you’ll do and how you will make an impact.

You will design and deploy price and commission optimisation models for our insurance broker across the range of our insurance products. You will collaborate closely with the wider Utility Warehouse business to integrate customer economics into our unique multi-service pricing approach, ensuring our strategies drive long-term business objectives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead our insurance pricing approach: Take complete ownership of our market pricing, commission optimisation, and customer lifetime value (LTV) models across all our insurance products.
  • Manage trading: Drive our insurance product performance to make sure we hit our ambitious targets for sales and customer value.
  • Build the models: Maintain and upgrade our customer and market behaviour models to keep them incredibly accurate. Embed WTW Radar as a key analytics tool for Insurance pricing, whilst utilising SQL and other data tools for complex modelling and analysis.
  • Shape strategies: Recommend data-driven pricing plans that fit our long-term insurance goals.
  • Do the right thing: Make sure every pricing action champions fair outcomes for our customers and ticks all regulatory boxes.

We work together. Your team and the people you will work with...

You will report directly to our Head of Insurance and work right at the heart of our Commercial Growth team. We are a lively, characterful bunch who love to work together to drive results. Financial Services is the newest part of our business so expect high pace and lots of opportunity to shape change as we scale. You will work closely with other departments to make sense of our unique multi-service customer economics, making sure our pricing strategies are simple, fair, and aligned with UW’s long-term vision.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to bring the following knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Data and numbers wizard: You have a degree in a highly numerical subject (such as Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science)—or you have the equivalent real-world commercial experience to match.
  • Insurance know-how: You bring expert experience in general insurance pricing and have a deep, detailed understanding of price optimisation.
  • Tech savvy: You have hands-on experience using WTW Radar (or similar insurance analytics software).
  • SQL and modelling expert: You are great at using SQL to handle complex data, and you are comfortable with advanced statistical techniques and customer modelling.
  • Great communicator: You have a knack for translating complex data into clear plans, easily bringing senior managers and directors along on the journey.
  • Good-hearted teammate: You keep the customer's interests at heart, making sure our decisions always lead to fair outcomes.

So why pick UW?

We’ve got big ambitions so there’s going to be plenty of challenges. There are also a lot of benefits:

  • An industry benchmarked salary. We’ll share it during your first conversation.
  • Performance bonus: An annual discretionary bonus ranging from 15-40%.
  • Hybrid working, with 2 days in the office. (We’re definitely open to discussing flexible working arrangements)
  • Electric Car salary sacrifice scheme through Tusker
  • Discount on our services and you’ll also get access to 100s of rewards and discounts through Perkbox
  • A matched contribution pension scheme and life assurance up to 4x your salary. You can also access free mortgage advice and a financial wellbeing tool.
  • Family-friendly policies, designed to help you and your family thrive.
  • Discounted private health insurance, access to an Employee Assistance line and a free Virtual GP. Our wellbeing app Unmind supports your mental health.
  • Belonging groups that help UW shape an even more inclusive future.
  • A commitment to helping you develop your career journey through learning, coaching and new experiences

Not sure you meet all the requirements? Let us decide! Research shows that women and members of other underrepresented groups tend not to apply for jobs if they think they may not meet every qualification, when in fact they often do.

We provide equal opportunities, a diverse and inclusive work environment, and fairness for everyone. You are welcome to apply no matter your age, disability, gender, marriage or civil partnership status, pregnancy and maternity status, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation. Please don’t be afraid to ask about what we can do to support your needs. All requests will be carefully and fairly considered.

Please note, if you are successful and offered a role at UW, you will be subject to a background check. Where checks are unsatisfactory or incomplete and/or a failure to reveal information relating to convictions that you are required to identify as part of the background checks, could lead to withdrawal of an offer of employment.
