About the role
Reporting to the Quality Assurance and Governance Manager, the Control and Governance Analyst role sits within the Financial Services Operations 1st line control team and is responsible for ensuring that all governance requirements are met and for the joint management of risks and issues across the operation.
What you’ll do
- Work with relevant stakeholders, document any FS risks, issues/incidents including root cause, actions, progress updates, risk acceptances and recommendations for changes
- Documentation and maintenance of the suite of FS processes and procedures, ensuring that it is up to date, accurate and easily accessible
- Assist in ensuring FS adherence to policies, regulations and procedures; completing relevant gap analysis against any new policies and working with key stakeholders to action any gaps
- Ownership of FS metric reporting for TCF MI / Consumer duty reporting; liaison with Operations Lead and Team Leaders relating to key themes
- Coordinate the maintenance of the FS Business Continuity plan and the FS Knowledge Base (education materials) via quarterly reviews with SMEs
- In conjunction with the Quality Assurance and Governance Manager and Compliance, create the FS Operations Risk Register; facilitate regular reviews of the Risk Register with stakeholders and input into the Compliance-led annual Risk Register review
- Input into Governance forum content e.g.
- Key metric reporting (TCF, Consumer Duty)
- Issues/remediation templates
About you
- Highly motivated and proactive, with experience in regulated financial services (ideally insurance/consumer credit), you always seek to understand the impact of actions on the customer and to deliver fair outcomes
- You have strong organisational and prioritisation skills to manage different workstreams and a wide range of issues as they arise, working in a fast-paced environment
- You have strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach
- You have experience of documenting processes and procedures to high standards
- You have an ability to identify issues and risks, take ownership of issues, bring inconsistencies and problems to the attention of management, and make suggestions for improvements
- You have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across a variety of stakeholders, instilling confidence that key risks and issues are being managed
