Are you an experienced Commercial Planning and forecasting expert looking to grow your career? We need you to join our Commercial Development team here at UW. At a time that we are doubling down on our growth ambitions, this role will be highly visible and highly impactful! Here's some of the key skills and experience we're looking for you to bring:

  • Significant experience of commercial planning and analysis in a role of a similar level within a Utilities or similar consumer services industry(s)
  • Strong analytical skills, including expertise in statistical analysis, data modelling, and data visualisation.
  • Proficiency in using forecasting and planning software and tools.
  • Able to translate the complex to the simple and communicate effectively at a senior level
  • Strong people manager who enjoys developing and growing their team
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on driving business results and creating value
  • Strong, collaborative leadership skills with the ability to challenge and drive change
  • A natural problem solver with the ability to prioritise activities and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Reporting to the Commercial Development Director you'll be joining the Commercial Development team who are tasked with driving our customer growth.

You'll have 1 direct report.

This role will be highly collaborative working across Data, Finance, Product, Sales and Marketing teams to influence and deliver commercial strategies.

This is a newly created role so there's a huge amount of opportunity to take hold of the role and make it your own. You’ll be a key partner in ensuring effective commercial planning, forecasting and delivery in UW’s growth journey.

Responsibilities

  • Developing the strategy for and leading the delivery of the commercial forecasting and planning function with increasing effectiveness and sophistication.
  • Coordinating the creation of the cross functional annual growth plan using business insights, market trends and historic data to identify our growth opportunities and achievable growth targets.
  • Ensuring close linkages with Finance and the P&Ls to inform and be informed for the associated budgets and plans
  • Identification of opportunities and risks to the plan and working with channel and business owners to mitigate them
  • Support and drive the annual Commercial Growth planning process as part of the broader UW planning process
  • Developing & leading ongoing run rate modelling and real-time re-forecasting process
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders with particular focus on finance and delivering to the P&L in line with the forecasts.
  • Drive organisational continuous improvement and change to support business growth and value delivery
  • Collaborate with Senior Management and key stakeholders in the development of strategies and supporting each channel and service area in the development of its own forecasting capability
  • Building the integrity of our commercial data, informing our routes to market and commercial choices
  • Supporting/Running the weekly Trading meeting
  • Leading and managing a team of one direct report and cross functional support areas
