You will be eager to work and develop your career with a high growth, fast paced and high transaction business. Key skills & essential experience include:

  • Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA) (at least 50% complete) with a passion to qualify.
  • Commercially-minded finance professional.
  • Solid experience in an Assistant Management Accounting role with experience in:
    • Preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts
    • Preparation of month end and year end balance sheets including preparation of journals, allocations, balance sheet reconciliations and calculation of provisions and accruals
    • Preparation of the budgeting and forecasting at a department level
    • Preparation and presentation of ad hoc analysis
    • Some business partnering experience ideal
  • Advanced Excel user - ability to analyse and manipulate large dataset. NetSuite experience is highly desirable but we can teach you the fundamentals if you have a learning mindset
  • Effective communication written and oral skills
  • Hands-on approach with a readiness to be flexible
  • A pragmatic approach and the ability to see commercial, customer centric solutions
  • A sense of camaraderie and good humour while under pressure with Finance and Non Finance teams

In this role you'll report to the Finance Business Partner for our Partner business. At UW, our success is intertwined with the 65,000+ Partners across the country who recommend our services to their networks.

You will work with the Management Accountant for Partner and the Partner leadership team to support the strategic and operational decision-making process through insights that drive better performance and efficiency. Key areas of support will include the Operational, Marketing and Leadership team in the Partners Team.

You'll be part of a wider Finance team including Financial Control, Reporting, Forecasting and Modelling.

You will be responsible for supporting key areas of the Partner business with all aspects of finance, management accounting, management reporting and financial control.

You will support the strategic and operational decision-making process through insights that drive better performance and efficiency. Your role will include:

  • Support the periodic preparation, review and monitoring of key areas in the Partner business unit on an ongoing basis, identifying and explaining any key variances
  • Support the continual development of monthly reporting and analysis
  • Preparation, review and monitoring of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring postings are clear and understood by all, and balances substantiated
  • Preparation of monthly posting of accurate accruals, prepayments, and deferred income; and to reconcile and provide commentary on any variances to budget and forecast
  • Support the preparation of the Annual Partner budget process and ongoing forecast on an ongoing basis, identifying and explaining variances
  • Periodically undertake the sales reconciliation process and work with the preparation of audit responses
  • To be involved, as appropriate, in the operations team and Finance Department special projects, annual budget setting, monthly forecasting, finance systems and process improvements, modelling work, and any other general requirements.
  • Provide ad hoc reports and analytics as required to business partners and finance leadership team
