Hours: Tuesday to Friday 13:00 – 21:00 & Saturday 12:00pm – 20:00 - 35 hours per week

Salary: £26652 plus £1703 shift allowance
Job purpose
Reporting into the Sites Facilities Officer, the Security Officer is expected to ensure the safety and security of the staff and customers of their Note/Coin Site. The role holder will support the existing Operations and wider Security teams, always ensuring adherence to security procedures. The Security Officer is expected undertake relevant ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Centralised Control Room Manager and to assist the Facilities Manager/Facilities Officer on site. This will include various Facilities and Health and Safety checks in accordance with existing Vaultex procedures.
Main responsibilities
- Responsible for the day to day running of the Security Control environment, ensuring that all applicable Vaultex / B of E Security procedures are adhered to within said site.
- Act as the first point of contact for visitors and employees to the site always presenting a professional image.
- Be responsible for carrying out daily Security checks to minimise site risk, dealing with on site visitors, including contractors, deliveries and Vaultex employees, as well as outside agencies including the police.
- Carry out strict security procedures, in line with the Vaultex Security Framework, including perimeter checks, employee/visitor searches etc.
- Maintain and record all information accurately and in line with established processes.
- Assist with the general maintenance of the building where required.
- Responsibility to ensure PPMs and all scheduled works are carried out within appropriate timescales.
- Reactive maintenance issues are escalated to the appropriate supplier and, where appropriate, support functions. Follow up and ensure issue is followed through to resolution with relevant supplier. Escalate any issues in a timely manner if unresolved.
- Act as a coordinator and liaison for all installation and additional works, ensuring that agreed work is carried out as agreed.
- Proactively deal with any security/H & S issues ensuring raised appropriately and timely.
- Conduct and deal with Health & Safety issues, including carrying out alarm and fire safety tests.
- Maintain effective liaison with other Security Officer on site, Centralised Control Room and Remote-Control Room at all times.
- Other general daily duties as delegated by the Leadership team.
- Issuing all on site items that need to be signed out such as radios, PA’s, visitor locker keys and NCS fobs etc
Knowledge, skills and experience required
- Good computer literacy/skills.
- Confident approach with excellent communication skills and ability to question where appropriate.
- Flexible approach to required tasks and working times.
- Well-organised with an ability to multi-task.
- Excellent observational skills.
- Ability to work within a team.
- Excellent time keeping and attendance.
- Previous experience in the Security field, including control room an advantage, although training will be provided.
- Ability to multi-task
